The 3 rd Sculpture Expo of Iran
One of the most significant sculpture events started after eight years of its second edition, at the
suggestion of Mitra and Mohsen. The 3 rd Sculpture Expo of Iran was held with the aim of providing
maximum-quality artwork and book printing. Mohsen Gholami, the secretary of the third Expo,
Mitra Arbab Seljooghi, the executive secretary, together with the board of directors of the
Association of Iranian Sculptor Society, exhibited 98 sculptures of contemporary artists in the Arte
Design Gallery from December 6 to 27, 2019. During this period, the Expo book with 148 pages was
printed, and the book was unveiled two days before the opening of the exhibition, in the Iranian
Artists Forum, with the presence of masters and a group of artists. Mr. Majidi (then chairman of the
board of directors of the association), Ms. Noqli (director of the gallery), Master Behrouz Daresh
(sculptor), and Mohsen Gholami (secretary of the Expo) gave a speech at the ceremony.
At the book launch ceremony, Professor Taha Behbahani was honored for his many years of efforts
in the field of sculpture.
“The observance of Expo 98 with a desirable quality in artworks presentation and book publishing could be a rebirth to sculpture art economics. The organizers exert to exhibit maximum possible artworks to introduce youngsters and their art collections beside conservative artists. This event holds when enthusiastic collectors, commercial and entertainment centers and business institues to be increased. On our way, we tried stablishing a suitable situation to showcase artworks and book publication. A foundation for the persevering of this event in the next years. Also, with publishing and documenting this event we tried to gather a valid and complete source for the contemporary sculpture of Iran. we appreciate Mohammadreza Ansari, Naser Mir-bagheri, Soheil Hosseini and everyone who supports us on this way especially, recriational tourism complex “Baamland” which extremely endrosed us for publication Expo 98 book. Holding this exhibition and publishing its book would be a page of the great book of our country sculpture art history. We hope to continue this format in the upcoming years and this event becoming more prosperous.”
