Spirituality

The Spirituality was the first joint professional project of Mitra and Mohsen. They got acquainted with environmental art through Dr. Ahmad Nadalian and started working at the same time as they were studying at the university. It was the topic that had occupied their minds for a long time. The topic was light and its connection with spirituality. All their works of art at that time unconsciously had a sign of this subject. The light has two aspects for us; the first one is the highest level of energy and it is as if all the universe benefits from its light. The second one is based on compulsion. This artwork was made by them and two other artists.

fruits market

The fruit and vegetable markets were Mohsen Gholami`s first collection in sculpture. He started studying exhibitions and galleries when he was a university student who had more time to get to know gallery owners and collectors. After several years, he realized that a strange cycle was occurring in sculpture. Golden and shiny bronze sculptures were priced and sold only based on the material and weight of the sculptures. In a period spanning several years, the concept had given away to materiality and decoration. In the same period and at the peak of this issue, in the sculpture expo of 2011, he created a collection under the title of fruit and vegetable market, which was molded from real fruits. In his opinion, these bronze and shiny pieces had no artistic value, and due to the arrangement,

The Current

The collection of Mitra Arbab Saljooghi coins was formed when she was a university student. She considered the coin as a blank page to record the events of life that are not recorded anywhere. Most of these events were related to the events of the country and their impact on the artist’s personal life.

Holy Zoo

Mohsen Gholami started working on his collection of hippos and the idea of this collection was formed in the political context of his country, where people with violent behaviors were raving about heaven. A strange contradiction was surging in them without seeing themselves or trying to fix it. From his point of view, the hippos are creatures that could show us these human traits and behavior with more exaggeration, such as the shouting of an angel. A Sleeping heavy being flying with angelic wings as if these wings are holy. This paradox can be a flip for the strange things that happen in our country such as holy wars, forced heaven, and barbaric deeds that are under the Islamic shadow.

Oyster Boy

Mitra started The Shell Boy when she chose a film by Tim Burton for the illustration project ” The Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy”. In that project, she started to sketch from it, and she was attracted to the story of the boy, she decided to make a collection.

She

Mohsen Gholami started working on the sculpture of the pumpkins in 2014, while his hippo projects had not yet reached their main results. A social formalist project like pumpkins compensates for this feeling in him and makes him able to experience the form at the same time.

Custom-made projects

Custom-made projects have been an important part of their sculpting. With the Covid-19 pandemic around the world and with the closing of all galleries and exhibitions and the decrease in the sale of artworks, and finally, the weakening of the global economy, accepting orders was a way for them to continue living.

Kambiz Derambakhsh

They were preparing for a group exhibition in the gallery when they realized that Kambiz Derambakhsh; a famous Iranian cartoonist is sitting in the gallery. He’s a master at work with renowned artwork full of inspiration, talking with him was very exciting for them. And he told them about his concerns for making a number of sculptures and they planned to talk about these ideas in the upcoming sessions. This was the beginning of a friendship between Mitra, Mohsen, and Uncle Kambiz and with each passing day, their bond became stronger. Henceforth Kambiz had a significant effect on them as a cartoonist, he executed his ideas using a simple tool which was a pen and paper while sculptors spend a lot of time and effort creating a sculpture and must be considerate of the subject. And have to create less artwork because of limitations compared to 2D artwork.

The Zoo

The first exhibition that they organized was titled “Zoo” in which they had the role of curator of the exhibition. They were with the artists during the entire period from the creation of the works to the performance stage. The main concern of the exhibition was the environmental issue, which was invited by five people. And the number of nine works from this exhibition were held.

The 3 rd Sculpture Expo of Iran

One of the most significant sculpture events started after eight years of its second edition, at the
suggestion of Mitra and Mohsen. The 3 rd Sculpture Expo of Iran was held with the aim of providing

Light Line

The “Light Line” Exhibition, was created based on new light technology that was made available to artists. They invited artists to create new works with new media with different techniques in their works. There was amazing variety in the artwork. They invited 19 artists to this exhibition.

The Julious Tedd Project
