Mitra Arbab Saljooghi
Mashhad, 1990
After studying Graphics design major in high school, she continued her studies in art at university. She joined Mojtaba Ramzi’s class with a group of university students and started to develop ideas and learn sculpture. After introducing Dr. Ahmad Nadealian (Environmental artist), she began her environmental art
activities by finding a four-member group and presenting the Spirituality Project.
Throughout separating the two members, Mitra and Mohsen followed their work on the project and presented their first exhibition at Elahe Art Gallery in Tehran.
They have done their activity in sculpture professionally both by participating in several group exhibitions in different galleries. Since 2018, to answer the request of art lovers around them, they have held private sculpture classes in their own studio for a few years. After all, they could do one of their interests which was curating the exhibitions. Curating the “Zoo” exhibition was the beginning of holding exhibitions and developing new ideas. Mr. Ramzi and two of his students (Mitra and Mohsen) artworks were presented at this exhibition. They were well
received, which made them more active, and receive suggestions for holding a sculpture expo for the Iranian Sculptors Association and holding it of the highest quality, and publishing a valuable book from it.
In the sculpture expo, in which 98 artists participated, Mohsen was the manager and Mitra was the executive manager, and it was a victory in their cooperation.
After that event, they held an exhibition with light as their new material which was titled Khat-e-Roshan (bright line). It included 18 prominent artists which was
well received.
In the early of the Covid 19 Pandemic, all galleries were closed. Therefore, they accepted to make some custom-made artworks to concentrate on materials and ideas which made them stronger in sculpture techniques. Making two gigantic statues for Dubai Blue Water was one of them presented in this book.
